If you have a passion for collecting rare or exclusive footwear, you're probably all too familiar with catching yourself developing some strong emotional ties for certain pairs from your collection.
In the monthly Kickin' the Door Blog series, we welcome fellow Rotterdam-based sneaker aficionados and footwear connoisseurs to share the Top 3 sneakers from their collection and let us in on the stories that make them so unique.
@Jarinuno
For the 27th edition of the Kickin’ the Door series, we are joined by Jari Nuno.
- Jari, can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got into sneakers?
My name is Jari Nuno, I'm 25 years old and from Crooswijk, Rotterdam. I'm the brand owner of Fat Crayon Creative and a photographer as well. My relationship with sneakers started at a young age, with my appreciation growing after seeing my brother always coming home with the freshest Air Maxes. The moment where I was really blown away was when I entered his room and saw 6 pairs of Air Structures lying there. During that moment, I really felt the need to grab them for myself.
Things really got out of hand when I started working at Footlocker, though. I remember when the Nike Air Max 90 Infrared & Air Max 95 Neon dropped for Air Max Day (around 2015) and immediately bought those. From that point onwards I started collecting all kinds of sneakers.
We are curious - What are Jari's Top 3 sneakers from his collection and more importantly, what are the stories behind them?
#3
Nike Air Max 95 OG 'Neon'
(Released in 2015)
-Brazil winning the World Cup in 2002. I don't have to say any more than that, right?
#2
Nike Air Stab 'Emerald Green'
(Released in 2015)
I already owned a pair of Air Stabs before these, but I was deadset on finding another colorway that looked flyer than those did. I was searching for this specific pair but couldn't find it at any retailer, so after an extensive search I managed to find them DS on Marktplaats. No hesitation.

When I was still a kid, I saw my brother wearing these and instantly fell in love.
